Quick Recovery Estimate

What drives the number

Recovery value is a percentage of retail (or wholesale) that a buyer will pay for a lot. In beauty and apparel it typically ranges from a few cents on the dollar for damaged, short-dated or unbranded goods up to a meaningful fraction of wholesale for sealed, in-date, well-known brands with a clean manifest. Five things decide where your lot lands.

1. Brand and category

Designer fragrance and prestige skincare hold value in secondary markets because demand is deep and international. Private-label, unbranded or heavily regulated product recovers less because fewer channels can take it.

2. Condition

Sealed, in original packaging, retail-ready product is the top tier. Shelf pulls and testers sit below that. Customer returns and packaging-damaged goods are priced by grade. Opened or used product is usually not purchasable.

3. Shelf life

Skincare and cosmetics with six months or more of dating price normally. Under six months, the discount steepens fast because the buyer has to sell through before expiry. Fragrance and apparel don't carry this penalty.

4. Quantity and mix

Pallet and truckload quantities of a small number of SKUs are easiest to place and get the best per-unit price. Hundreds of SKUs in tiny quantities cost more to sort and sell, so the offer is lower per unit.

5. Restrictions

The more channels or regions you exclude, the fewer buyers we can place with, and the lower the price. That is a legitimate trade-off. Tell us the restrictions up front and we'll price honestly around them.

How to get the highest offer

Send a manifest with brand, item name, size or shade, UPC if you have it, quantity, condition, expiry date and where the goods are located. A clean spreadsheet gets a faster and higher offer than a description, because it removes the buyer's uncertainty. Photos of a representative pallet help too.

What the estimator does not know

It uses category and condition averages. It can't see your brands, your dating or your restrictions, so treat the range as a starting point. A real offer takes us about a day once we have the list.
